What to practice:

1) Technique:

  • Expanding Long Tones
  • Chromatics (use your metronome)
  • Major Scales (lightly tongue all notes, use your metronome):
2) Method:

  • None at this time.
3) Repertoire/Composition:

  • Now's The Time: Use your play-a-long; get that melody down. :)
  • Swingin' On Elkins:
    • Play more lightly on the classical part, but cleanly and accurately
    • Use your play-a-longs
    • Improv: light tongue (no slurring)
    • Run your G blues scale more
    • 1st chorus, more sustained notes
    • Back off the dynamics a bit; play more lightly
