The Tuning Note The Tuning Note is a place where anyone can come to enjoy private lessons in piano, jazz piano, trumpet, jazz trumpet, or jazz improvisation (any instrument). This is also the home of the "OMP," or Online Music Portfolio. The Online Music Portfolio is a unique package of web pages, specific to each student. Essentially each student receives their very own web site for their music lessons. See more information below. Try a lesson for free - and if there is no desire to continue, there's no cost!
Each student receives their very own set of web pages for their music lessons! Although each student receives a lesson sheet at the conclusion of each lesson, each web page includes:
Free DVD of each recital! One DVD will be given to each family. (There will be an extra fee for additional copies.) In addition to lessons, I'm excited to offer group Master Classes. You can view more information by clicking "Master Classes." I am also available as an accompanist and have enjoyed accompanying several choirs, including the Folsom High School, Sutter Middle School and Folsom Middle School choirs, the 2006 Elementary Honors Choir, as well as for Cantare, and adult choir based in Placerville, CA. Piano tuning is available as well! Additionally I have hosted a weekly jazz jam session, which has included players and singers, both younger and older. It's one of the best opportunities for jazz musicians to play and hear others sharing the American art form known as jazz. More information can be found by clicking "Jam Sessions." Research shows that piano students are better equipped to comprehend mathematical and scientific concepts. A group of preschoolers received private piano keyboard lessons and singing lessons. A second group received private computer lessons. Those children who received piano/keyboard training performed 34 percent higher on tests measuring spatial-temporal ability than the others, even those who received computer training. "Spatial-temporal" is basically proportional reasoning - ratios, fractions, proportions and thinking in space and time. This concept has long been considered a major obstacle in the teaching of elementary math and science.* Click on the side links for more information and * http://www.amc-music.com/child_development.htm |
